Struggling with Feeling Too Young for Dentures Shouldn't Stop You from Getting ThemSometimes when you think about dentures your mind will immediately think about older people. It's important to understand that they're not the only ones who wear dentures today. There are many young people who need dentures today too.

Why More Young People Need Dentures

There are various reasons why young people are getting dentures today. These reasons include things like acid reflux, being diagnosed with ectodermal dysplasia, or getting into some type of an accident. Genetics also predispose many people to tooth loss due to things like gum disease and tooth decay.

Due to these various reasons research has found that about 69% of adults ages 35 – 44 have now lost at least one of their permanent teeth. Another study has found that 53% of people who have dentures today are 44-years-old or younger. Hopefully, understanding these numbers and the causes that lead to them will make you feel better if you yourself need dentures.

This is important because you don't want to put off getting them because doing so will help you maintain your youthful look without being self-conscious. This is important because as a young adult you're busy building friendships and exploring relationships. You want to feel comfortable doing so and when your own natural teeth are no longer an option, you should know dentures are a great option.

If you're still concerned about getting dentures, you can find people online who are willing to talk to you and answer your questions. Of course, this is their own personal experience and you must remember this because you should also bring your questions and concerns to us so you can have professional answers. To do so, we invite you to call and schedule a time to come into our office and discuss these things with us. We want you to feel comfortable and have a healthy mouth too.
