What Repair Options Do You Have If A Front Tooth Cracks?Have you ever been eating something, such a piece of candy or ice cream, and felt something hard in your mouth that you were sure wasn't part of the food you were eating, only to realize upon checking that it is, in fact, a part of your tooth?

Well, if you have, then you'll be happy to know that you have quite a few options for repair of the tooth. When you visit our offices with a chipped, broken, or decayed tooth, there are a variety of ways we could solve the problem.

Fillings and Bonding

If the damage isn't too great, you can get a filling, or in some cases, we could use dental bonding. Both of these use a composite resin that has the same color as teeth, making it blend seamlessly into your overall smile.

Dental Crowns

In case your tooth has mostly decayed, then we can consider adding a dental cap or crown. The process involves checking the extent of the damage to the tooth and filing away most of the remaining part and then adding a dental cap to give the tooth the appearance of a complete tooth. In case the tooth is entirely decayed, we may have to check the root for integrity and then add a bit of support to it on which we then add the crown. For a tooth decayed beyond repair, extraction becomes the only option.

Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are a great solution if it's a front tooth that is chipped or cracked. Basically, a dental veneer is to a tooth what a false nail is to a fingernail or toenail. It is a composite material resin or porcelain shell that we place on the front of the tooth to cover the whole tooth.

In case you have a cracked or chipped tooth, do not hesitate to visit our offices so we can solve the problem immediately. We are here to help!
