What Services Does Alexandra Garcia, DDS, MS Offer?
Here at Alexandra Garcia, DDS, MS we provide comprehensive prosthodontic dental care. Prosthodontics is the practice of restoring smiles both for appearance, and function. The services that we provide to accomplish that includes:
Implant Dentistry
Our entire team is very proud to provide dental implants in West Oaks Houston, TX. Our prosthodontic practice allows us to restore the neighborhood's smiles with a permanent solution that mimics their natural teeth from the crown all the way down to the root. Dental implants provide the best, and longest lasting solution for single tooth restoration. In addition, implants provide a secure anchor for dental bridges and dentures.
Dental implants provide the most natural appearance, and the most functional option for tooth loss. No special maintenance is needed, just brush and floss like you always have. In addition, the dental implant stimulates bone growth in the jaw. This prevents bone loss, and the sunken, sagging appearance that comes from tooth loss over time.
Over the lifetime of a dental implant restoration they become cheaper than dentures and bridges. The mouth changes over time, and dentures and bridges become uncomfortable. They must be refitted, and sometimes, must be replaced. In addition, dentures and bridges require much more maintenance and special cleaning solutions. Over their lifetime, dental implants require no more dental visits or maintenance than natural teeth, making them a permanent long-lasting solution for tooth restoration.

What is a prosthodontist?
Although our teeth can last our entire lives, teeth become injured, decay, or are lost. Prosthodontics focuses on fixing dental imperfections. The most common problem that we address is tooth loss, and the best long term solution to a lost tooth is a dental implant. However, we always prioritize saving the natural teeth. In the case of a decayed or broken tooth, we can remove the damaged part of the tooth and place a dental crown. In the case of two or more missing teeth in a row, our patients may choose a fixed bridge or partial denture to restore their smile.

We accept most dental insurance plans. Please call our Alexandra Garcia, DDS, MS team at (346) 250-2930 to verify your coverage.
What happens at my first appointment?
At your first appointment our team will collect your information before you see the dentist. Once we take you back into the exam area, the dentist will ask you a few questions and perform an oral examination, including a cancer screening. Next, we will update your dental x-rays, and have a comprehensive discussion of medical history, your concerns, and your individual goals for the health of your smile. Lastly, we will work with you to develop a customized treatment plan to meet your goals. This first, initial visit helps our team to establish an awareness of your oral health.
How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Please contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment to cancel or reschedule. This allows our team to offer the appointment to other patients in need.
Please contact us at (346) 250-2930 to make changes to your appointment at least 24 hours before you are scheduled.
How can I improve my oral hygiene?
Great oral hygiene only requires a few easy steps to be performed each day.
• |
First, be sure to brush at least twice per day.
|
• |
Second, floss at least once per day to clean between teeth. It is best to do this before going to sleep.
|
• |
Third, be sure to replace your toothbrush every three months, or when it shows signs of wear.
|
• |
Lastly, schedule regular dental check ups with our team. |
Are Dental X-rays safe?
Yes, dental x-rays, even old traditional x-rays, are perfectly safe. Our team uses modern, digital x-rays. These new digital systems emit much lower levels of radiation than the traditional kind of x-rays. We also take all of the proper precautions, such as using lead vests.
How often should I schedule a dental check-up?
We recommend visiting every six months for a professional cleaning and examination. However, some issues may require more frequent visits.
